Business Closures

On Thursday evening, Governor Tom Wolf ordered that all businesses that are not life-sustaining must close across the state. Enforcement will begin this weekend.

His administration provided a thorough list of what businesses can stay open and which need to close here: link https://www.governor.pa.gov/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/20200319-Life-Sustaining-Business.pdf

If your business is one that the Governor has ordered closed but you would like to seek a waiver, reach out with this email address: RA-dcexemption@pa.gov

For questions on whether your business may fall into a category on that list, reach out to the Administration here: ra-dcedcs@pa.gov

Distancing, Isolation and Quarantine

Quarantine vs isolationWe’ve heard those words thrown around almost interchangeably in the past few weeks, and I want to make sure that you know the difference between them as we move forward.

Social distancing should be practiced by everyone, whether or not exposed to the virus. The broad set of measures includes avoiding handshakes, crowds, staying at least six feet away from people, and most importantly, staying home if you’re sick.

Isolation comes after a diagnosis of Covid 19. It is for those who are already sick and serves to keep infected individuals away from healthy people in order to stop the spread of the virus.

Quarantines are put on groups and communities to separate and restrict the movement of people who were exposed to a contagious disease to see if they become sick.

I got this information on the #StopTheSpread page on npr.org and they have more resources there that are very helpful.
